Taking place in the lush but lonely setting of rural Ireland, The Lies We Tell is a film about a young, rich heiress named Maud. When Maud’s father passes away, the great estate and fortune fall into the hands of her estranged uncle Silas. It’s not long before Maud’s attempts at familial affection are cast aside, and her uncle’s devious intentions become clear. Try as he might to break her down, Silas is unable to break the spirit of the formidable young woman, leading to his ultimate demise. The Lies We Tell is a movie about family, isolation, obligation and betrayal.
